In a story that moved Dec. 28, Cronkite News Service erroneously reported Rep. Olivia Cajero Bedford’s characterization of the influence her mother’s death had on her participation in floor votes. Cajero Bedford said she didn’t miss any floor votes before her mother’s death in April 2007, not that her mother’s death affected her attendance during the 2009 legislative session.

In addition, Cajero Bedford said she left Arizona on July 1, the final day of the regular session, to attend a three-week Senior Executives in State and Local Government executive education program offered by Harvard University. According to the Cronkite News Service review, 45 of the 154 floor votes Cajero Bedford didn’t participate in occurred on July 1.
