Here are quick facts about domestic partner benefits for state employees in Arizona:

_ With former Gov. Janet Napolitano’s approval, the Governor’s Regulatory Review Council approved the benefits in 2008.

_ About 800 state employees filed for the benefits, according to the Arizona Department of Administration.

_ In September, a budget bill approved by the Legislature and signed into law pulled domestic partner benefits for state employees. The change takes effect Oct. 1, 2010.
