Open season: PGA Tour’s popular event is underway

SCOTTSDALE – The Waste Management Phoenix Open kicked off Monday with the Kadima.Ventures Pro-Am and practice rounds for PGA Tour pros.

The tournament, which held its first event 87 years ago, bills itself as “The Greatest Show on the Grass” and typically boasts an attendance of nearly half a million over the four-day event. This year’s field is scheduled to include top-ranked players Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm and Tony Finau. Competition begins Thursday.
