Key provisions of Flagstaff’s Downtown Management Plan

Besides calling for parking meters and kiosks, Flagstaff’s Downtown Management Plan includes provisions intended to enhance the historic area as a destination for tourists, shoppers and diners. Here are some key provisions:

_ Communicate information on available parking to customers, commuters and employees.

_ Create two new parking lots for employees.

_ Add ambassadors to assist motorists and the public with information on parking, shopping and dining downtown.

_ Create the position of downtown manager to manage all programs and activities downtown and act as a liaison between businesses and the city.

_ Provide weekly cleaning of sidewalks and alleys, including power washing of soiled areas, and removal of graffiti.
