Republicans scramble after latest Trump revelations, but responses vary

WASHINGTON – Arizona Republican candidates scrambled Saturday to distance themselves from recordings of presidential nominee Donald Trump making offensive and lewd comments about women, moves that Democrats criticized as too little, too late. Trump apologized Friday for the comments in the leaked videotape, but resisted calls to drop out. Reaction in Arizona ranged from Sen. John McCain, who said he would no longer support Trump’s candidacy, to Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, a congressional candidate who appeared to tweet out the same message then quickly deleted it.
