STATISTICS ON TRAFFIC FATALITIES IN ARIZONA

Here are statistics on traffic fatalities in Arizona during 2006, the latest year for which figures are available:

_ People killed in traffic-related accidents: 1,288.

_ Fatalities in which alcohol was a factor: 585, or 45 percent.

_ Victims who weren’t buckled up: 61 percent.

_ Average traffic-related deaths each day in Arizona: 3.5.
