Here are other findings from a study released Thursday by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Immigration Studies, a group that favors limiting immigration:

UNITED STATES

_ U.S. immigrant population (legal and illegal) was 37.9 million in 2007.

_ Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents.

ARIZONA<

_About 891,000 people, 14.2 percent of Arizona‘s population, are immigrants.

_Arizona stands ninth overall in immigrant population. California, New York and Florida are the top three states.
