Environmental group touts advantages of plug-in vehicles

Environment Arizona Research & Policy Center lists these as advantages plug-in electric vehicles have over gasoline-powered cars:

_ Plug-in hybrids converted from conventional hybrids can achieve 100 miles per gallon or more.
_ Some electric cars for sale in the U.S. can go more than 200 miles on a charge.
_ Rapid chargers have been developed that in less than 30 minutes can give batteries a charge good for 100 miles.
_ Electric cars are easier to maintain that gasoline-powered cars.
