Here are quick facts about the Arizona Heritage Project at Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek:

_ Founder: Barbara Hatch, a history teacher who in 35 years as an educator has served in Iran, Africa and other parts of the world.

_ Interviews: More than 300 since 2002 with veterans of conflicts ranging from World War II to the Iraq war.

_ Organization: Operates as a club at the high school.

_ Output: Provides videos once a year to the Library of Congress, and students produce essays that so far have filled five volumes.

_ Funding: Donations, grants and money from book sales.
