Key facts about law creating OHV decal fee

Here are some quick facts about a law requiring off-highway vehicle owners to purchase an annual $25 decal to use a vehicle in Arizona:

_ Took Effect: Jan. 1.

_ Goal:  Raise $4 million to $6 million to help maintain and build trails, restore damaged areas, educate riders and fund more law enforcement. Also makes certain types of riding illegal.

_ Decals Purchased: About 92,000 through July.

_ Revenue Generated: About $2.3 million.
