Here are quick facts about the Capitol Christmas Tree, which this year is coming from Arizona:

_ Type: Blue spruce

_ Dimensions: 85 feet tall; 30 feet across the base of its crown

_ Age: Estimated to be 100 to 125 years old

_ Location: Near Alpine in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests of far eastern Arizona.

_ Plans: The tree will be cut at a ceremony Nov. 7. It will travel 1,000 miles around Arizona before journeying to Washington, making stops along the way.

_ Competition: The Capitol Christmas tree is different from the National Christmas Tree, which is on the White House grounds.

_ Did You Know: The tree will take in more than 100 gallons of water a day.
