Tips from U.S. State Department on Mexico travel

Citing increased violence, the U.S. State Department issued a travel alert, effective through April 14, urging travelers to Mexico to take precautions to ensure their safety. It includes these tips:
_ Visit only legitimate business and tourist areas;
_ Avoid areas where prostitution and drug dealing might occur;
_ Exercise prudence about areas visited during the evening and at night.
