PHOENIX – An Aug. 30 Cronkite News story about the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter’s latest environmental report card for the Arizona Legislature and governor misstated the focus of the Arizona State Parks Heritage Fund, which provides grant opportunities for trail projects; outdoor environmental education programs; local, regional and state parks; and historic preservation projects. The story also mischaracterized funding distribution for the Arizona State Parks Board, which received nearly $32 million in SB 1720, the state budget bill.
