LAS VEGAS – NBA Summer League is more than just an opportunity for rookies and G League and non-roster players to make a case for themselves. The stars come out, too, and UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center and Cox Pavilion saw some of the biggest roll through during the 11-day competition that wrapped up Monday.
On top of the summer league rosters that featured high profile names including Victor Wembanyama, Brandon Miller and Scoot Henderson, many NBA veterans and coaches came to root for their teams. Even some of the league’s all-time greats – as well as NBA fans from former MLB standout Alex Rodriguez to rapper J. Cole – dropped by to catch a glimpse.
Summer league has turned into a who’s who for those who show up in celebrity row to sit courtside during the 10-day Las Vegas tournament. They come to enjoy the dunks, the posters, the rising stars and of course, the proximity to the Las Vegas strip.
