EDS: Clients who used a story slugged BC-CNS-Apache Bill that moved Wednesday, July 22, under a WASHINGTON dateline, are asked to use the following correction. A updated version of the story has been posted here.
WASHINGTON –The July 22 Cronkite News report about Apache protests against the Resolution Copper Mine had a photo caption the incorrectly identified a tribal official talking with Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Tucson. That official is Tohono O’odham Chairman Edward D. Manuel. Additionally, the story incorrectly said Rio Tinto did not respond to a request for comment. In fact, Cronkite News was not able to contact the company Wednesday.
