CORRECTION to Feb. 26 story on AMBER alerts in Indian Country UPDATED

EDS: Clients who used a Cronkite News story slugged BC-CNS-Native AMBER that moved Monday, Feb. 26, under a WASHINGTON dateline, are asked to use the following correction. A corrected version of the story has been posted here.

WASHINGTON – A Feb. 26 Cronkite News story on Congress voting to expand AMBER alert coverage to tribal lands misspelled the name of Virginia Davis, senior policy adviser for the National Congress of American Indians. The story also quoted a lawmaker who cited an incorrect number of federally recognized tribes. There are currently 573 such tribes.
