WASHINGTON – An April 14 story about the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to allow the addition of folic acid to corn masa flour had an erroneous word in an agency spokeswoman’s quote. Speaking on safety tests of the folic acid, Susan Mayne said, “We got the final data that we needed late in 2015 that allowed us to have all the science in place so we can do our job as a regulatory agency to make sure that the food supply is safe.”
