Highlights of bill to allow school districts to sell Web ads

Here are key provisions of HB 2437, which would allow public school districts to sell advertising on their Web sites:
_ Money can be put toward any purpose benefiting students, as determined by the district’s governing board.
_ Ads must be age appropriate.
_ No ads promoting anything that’s illegal for minors, such as alcohol, tobacco, drugs or gambling.
_ Ads must comply with the state’s abstinence-education policy.
