Senate Race (Autriya C&C)
ARIZONA SENATOR MARK KELLY HAS KEPT HIS LEAD OVER HIS REPUBLICAN RIVAL, BLAKE MASTERS, AS OF WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. KELLY NOW LEADS BY MORE THAN 83-THOUSAND VOTES. BUT THERE ARE STILL BALLOTS LEFT TO COUNT.

MANY OF KELLY’S SUPPORTERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY GATHERED IN HIS HOMETOWN OF TUCSON LAST NIGHT. THAT’S WHERE KELLY SHOWED HIS GRATITUDE FOR HIS SUPPORTERS.

“Folks it’s been the honor of my life to represent Arizona in the United States Senate. And for as long as I am there, I’ll be honest with you, I will protect our country, and our democracy and I will work with everyone to create a brighter future for our state and our country.”

KELLY BEAT REPUBLICAN MARTHA MCSALLY IN 2020 IN A SPECIAL ELECTION AFTER SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN DIED.

HIS VICTORY GAVE DEMOCRATS BOTH OF ARIZONA’S SENATE SEATS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 70 YEARS. FOR THE MIDTERMS, KELLY HAS FOCUSED HIS CAMPAIGN ON PROTECTING ABORTION RIGHTS AND SOCIAL SECURITY WHILE ALSO ENSURING THE STATE HAS A STABLE WATER SUPPLY AMIDST ONGOING DROUGHT. BLAKE MASTERS CENTERED HIS CAMPAIGN AROUND SEVERAL ISSUES INCLUDING SECURING THE BORDER AND SUPPORTING FAMILY VALUES.

Governor’s Race (Autriya C&C)
MEANWHILE THE RACE FOR WHO WILL BE ARIZONA’S NEXT GOVERNOR REMAINS TIGHT…AND THE NEW ROUND OF BALLOT DROPS SHOW THE RACE IS STILL TOO CLOSE TO BE CALLED.

DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE KATIE HOBBS’S SLIGHT EDGE OVER REPUBLICAN KARI LAKE IS NARROWING. HOBBS IS LEADING BY MORE THAN 4-THOUSAND VOTES, AS OF LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. KARI LAKE ENCOURAGED HER SUPPORTERS TO KEEP FIGHTING AT THE GOP WATCH PARTY TUESDAY NIGHT.

“Nothing has been easy. When corruption has risen to the level that it has right now, it takes tough strong people…are you tough and strong? *crowd cheering* Are you willing to continue this fight? *crowd cheering*”

HOBBS SAID THE EARLY RESULTS ARE ENCOURAGING BUT SHE TOLD HER SUPPORTERS TO BE PATIENT AS MORE VOTES COME IN.

“I have every confidence that the counties administering this election conducted a free and fair election and their results will be accurate. But they will take time, so prepare for a long evening and a few more days of counting.”

HOBBS’ CAMPAIGN FOCUSED ON THE SAME ISSUES AS HER DEMOCRATIC COUNTERPARTS, SUCH AS BRINGING TRANSPARENCY TO THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, PROTECTING ABORTION RIGHTS AND ADDRESSING ARIZONA’S DWINDLING WATER SUPPLIES. LAKE’S CAMPAIGN PLATFORM INCLUDED TAKING ON WHAT SHE CALLED ELECTION FRAUD, SECURING THE BORDER AND PRESERVING ARIZONA’S WESTERN HERITAGE.

Attorney General + Sec of state (Autriya/READER)

IN THE RACE FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL, REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE ABE HAMADEH HAS THE LEAD OVER DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE, KRIS MAYES. HAMADEH LEADS BY A NARROW MARGIN OF MORE THAN 3-THOUSAND VOTES AS OF LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE’S RACE, DEMOCRAT ADRIAN FONTES HAS A STEADY LEAD OVER HIS REPUBLICAN RIVAL, MARK FINCHEM. FONTES LEADS BY MORE THAN 77-THOUSAND VOTES.

Proposition 209 and 211 (Autriya/reader)
THERE WERE SEVERAL CITIZEN INITIATIVES ON THE BALLOT THIS YEAR. VOTERS TUESDAY APPROVED PROP 209 AND 211 BY AN OVERWHELMING MARGIN, ACCORDING TO THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.

PROP 211 LOOKS TO SHINE A LIGHT ON SO-CALLED DARK MONEY THAT CAMPAIGNS OR ORGANIZATIONS USE TO ATTACK CANDIDATES OR BALLOT MEASURES. THE PROPOSITION REQUIRES ANYONE CONTRIBUTING MORE THAN 50-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR STATEWIDE CAMPAIGNS OR 25-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR OTHER ONES TO DISCLOSE THE MONEY’S ORIGINAL SOURCES.

PROP 209 RELATES TO PREDATORY DEBT COLLECTION PROTECTION. ONE OF PROP 209’S FOCUS AREAS IS REDUCING MEDICAL DEBT FROM 10-PERCENT TO 3-PERCENT ANNUALLY.
