CORRECTION to June 16 story on Durant sentencing

PHOENIX – In a June 16 Cronkite News report on the sentencing of Arizona State football recruit Davon Durant, a source incorrectly stated the process for delivering the final decision on Durant’s student status by the university. That decision will be provided only to Durant. Also, specific dates for the disciplinary process have been replaced in the story by approximate dates based on publicly available information about the process.

CORRECTION to June 10 story on OSHA weather app

EDS: Clients who used a story slugged BC-CNS-Hot App, that moved Wednesday, June 10, under a WASHINGTON dateline, are asked to use the following correction. A corrected version of the story has been posted here.

WASHINGTON – A June 10 Cronkite News report on an Occupational Safety and Health Administration app that helps protect people from heat-related illnesses misspelled the name of a source quoted in the story. The source, the safety director for Phoenix-based construction company Kitchell, is Josh Welp.

GLENDALE – A June 11 Cronkite News story on the Glendale City Council’s vote to void the city’s arena deal with the Arizona Coyotes named an individual who was the reason for the council vote. City officials said late Thursday they had not revealed a specific individual.

WASHINGTON – A March 18 Cronkite News story on a hearing on the U.S. Forest Service budget incorrectly characterized Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell’s position on a Senate bill on wildfire funding. The service does not have a position on the bill, but Tidwell said he appreciates the effort by the senators and that the service wants to continue to work with Congress to find a solution to the funding problems.

WASHINGTON – A Feb. 20 Cronkite News story on the potential shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security incorrectly identified U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick’s party affiliation. The Flagstaff representative is a Democrat.
